Mark W. Kenny

CEO KENNCOR LLC,  President for UNMANNED MARITIME SYSTEMS, L3HARRIS

Mark Kenny serves as founder and Chief Executive Office of KENNCOR LLC, headquartered in Manassas VA.  KENNCOR is a Veterans Owned Small Business focusing on Undersea Warfare and Irregular Warfare consulting and support services.    He currently serves as  President for Unmanned Maritime Systems at L3HARRIS 


Kenny previously served as Vice President of Adaptive Methods, a small business specializing in command and control, acoustic signal processing and unmannde underse vehicles. Prior to that he was Vice President  for Irregular Warfare and Special Mission Systems for Northrop Grumman Aerospace Sector and established the Red Wings National Irregular Warfare Center (NIWC) in  2010. Based at Northrop Grumman's Washington DC office, Kenny led the company's Red Wings NIWC located in St. Augustine FL and the Maritime Mine Counter Measure/ Counter IED Center in Melbourne FL.  The centers serve as the premier IW field operations and Mine Counter Measure sites for rapid fielding, evaluation, demonstration and delivery of capabilities to the special operations warfighter.  He also led the US Navy and International F-5 fighter programs, A-10 attack aircraft efforts and Special Mission Systems at Red Wings.  His Red Wings team supported the first Tactical LIDAR aircraft deployment to OEF (Budd Light)


Kenny retired as a Rear Admiral and is a recognized expert in the fields of Naval support of counterterrorism, special operations and IW.  As a Flag Officer, he was appointed by the Chief of Naval Operations to lead the Navy's IW Office as its first director.  In that role, Kenny deployed unmanned air and undersea systems while conducting the initial use of cruise missiles against high value terrorist targets in support of OIF, OEF and other operational theaters, including Africa and Southeast Asia. He also established the Center for Expeditionary Counterterrorism Operations and the Center for Submarine Counterterrorism Operations deploying teams forward and on ships and submarines in support of counterterrorism task forces.


Kenny had a distinguished career in submarine warfare, serving aboard USS SEA DEVIL (SSN 664), USS MINNEAPOLIS ST PAUL (SSN 708) and USS KENTUCKY (SSBN 737) and by serving as Commanding Officer of USS BIRMINGHAM (SSN 695), commander of Submarine Squadron 7 in Pearl Harbor and as a Flag Officer serving as Submarine Group 2 and Group 10 and commander Navy Region Northeast.


Kenny earned a bachelor's degree in international security affairs at the US Naval Academy, holds a master's degree in international relations from Salve Regina University and has completed the National Security and Strategic Studies Program from the Naval War College. He was on the Advisory Board at ARL/PSU from 2010 to 2017 and in on the Executive Board on the Undeersea Warfare Divsion at NDIA.
